hello sunshine...
I can't remember if I told you that I bought a lemon tree. I have always wanted one and this summer I took the plunge. It was not an expensive plunge yet mentally I am invested. Despite my tender lovin' care over the hot summer months, I still do not have any lemons. I plan to bring her inside before the first frost and make a home for her in a sun drenched corner of my kitchen. Does anyone have a lemon tree that would like to offer me their best lemon tree love advice?

Well, I have a fake one with a few lemons on it so I don't think I am much help with tips on making it flourish. I wish they sold them here, I would love to have a real one in our kitchen but they are not a fan of our cold summers & extremely cold winters.
ReplyDeleteLove them! I want one or two and love the pop of bright yellow they give, perfect for any kitchen!
ReplyDeleteWe have quite a few citrus trees that we over-winter every year. We place them outdoors in full sun in April-May (up north in Ohio), water regularly (they like a lot)and feed occasionally. We bring them indoors at the end of October and place them in as much sun possible indoors in a room that does not go below 40 degrees, but does not go above 60 degrees. We water weekly and that's it. We've had good luck this way. Sometimes they need to grow for a year or two before flowering. But, when they do, it is just the most beautiful scent!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired! getting a lemon tree of my own!
ReplyDeleteI really really really want one but sadly they're not sold in Canada...well not that I know of anyways. Adore them on a kitchen counter!
ReplyDeleteI just bought a dwarf meyer lemon tree for my patio. I plan on putting it in a blue and white porcelain pot. I think once I have yellow lemons it will be so pretty. I should probably write "IF" I get any pretty yellow lemons. I have no advice, I am a novice too, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteI don't have one but I do love the way they look. I have, however, a brown thumb and am sure I would not do it justice!! I will be curious to hear how yours does!
